JoAnn Barwick's blue & white Swedish Cottage

This month on the cover of Traditional Home magazine is the beautiful vacation home and work of Interior Designer JoAnn Barwick. She is also the author of Scandinavian Country and a furniture designer specializing in the Swedish Gustavian style. Enjoy.....

If I had one word for swedish design it would be GRACEFULL....

Happy Thanksgiving 2008 Tablescape

Happy Thanksgiving to my readers. I'm posting early so you get a sneak peak of my tablescape this year. It will just be me and my 2 younger girls this year, so it's all about simplicity seating, but fit for princesses! It's set using all white with a touch of blue. I hate ironing so lets hope the wrinkles in the table cloth flatten out by tommorow night! I was hoping it wouldn't show up on camera.... but to no avail it did.

I spray painted my old orange pumkins white and did a vase of white ostrich feathers to relax the setting and give a shabby look.

Victoria Christmas 2008 Mantel

I recently got the November/December 2008 Victoria Magazine and of course was pleased as usual. Victoria has been my favorite magazine for the past 16 years at least and I have editions dated back to 1992. I would call myself a collector and every so often buy old editions to add to my collection. Infact I should do that today because the photo below has really gotten me in the mood! I can't put this one down! The mantel decor is to die for..... Now I won't be happy until I make a floral garland, and look at those beautiful bottle brush trees from Cody Foster. I have the vintage silver ones but cannot find these blue ones with white pearls anywhere. I need to get a wholesale account with them asap. The best part about this is the color....BLUE! This is truly my happy color...
