Taylor's Campus Day 2009

Taylor’s Open Day was held on the 11th-13th of December while Campus Day was held a week after, on the 18th-20th of December 2009 from 10am-5pm.

Now after fourty years of operation, this new campus, fondly called “Lakeside Campus” is scheduled to be opened in January 2010 with its first intake of students.

It is an expansion to meet the needs of both local and international students, which houses all existing tertiary programmes currently located at Taylor's various campuses in Subang Jaya and Petaling Jaya. With this, the ultra-modern Lakeside Campus comes with a three-storey multi-purpose hall and auditorium, a four-storey library, three 10-storey academic blocks and a hostel. Not forgetting, a 5.5 acre man-made lake, as well as a landscape of water plants, trees and flowering shrubs and groundcover which will provide a rich and stimulating natural environment in the neighbourhood.

A warm sense of arrival will be your first impression as the tree-lined University Drive leads you towards the main entrance and catch your first glimpse of the lake.

Inter-connecting streets lead to shops, cafes, banks, convenience stores and an array of service amenities. Next is the hostel, neighbouring F&B outlets that face out to the lake and a boardwalk which leads to the outdoor amphitheatre and University Square. Sheltered, high-ceiling, landscaped promenades will provide easy access to facilities, thus creates opportunities for various social and leisure activities.

More than just a home to new student population, it will be the nurturing ground for an energetic and dynamic new community.

TCPJ will be moving later (Phase 2) in March-April. Hence, SOCIT, SABD, TDS and SOC will stay put in January. This is to ensure that we don't suddenly flood the lakeside with more than we can handle and get everyone upset.

Although this may come as a downer but just wait 4 more months and we'll all be under one roof!
